Dr. Antronette Yancey, a professor at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, has received a Pioneering Innovation Award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Dr. Lester Breslow, a former dean of the UCLA Jonathan and Karin Fielding School of Public Health, professor emeritus of health services, and one of the leading figures in public health for seven decades, died Monday. He was 97.

2012 Dickson Emeriti Professors Named

The Dickson Emeritus/a Professorship Award is given each year to one or more emeriti professors to recognize continuing scholarship, teaching and service at UCLA since retirement. The late Edward A. Dickson, Regent of the University of California from 1913 to 1946, made the original gift that supports awards at each of the UC campuses.
