Department of Health Services Other Academic Programs

The Department of Health Services, in partnership with UCLA Extension, offers a Certificate in Health Care Management and Leadership. This training prepares aspiring managers and healthcare professionals to function effectively in this rapidly changing field. With conveniently scheduled evening and weekend courses, the program provides its students with a strong foundation in managerial and leadership skills, which are now in demand in all sectors of the health care field.
The UCLA/RAND Health Services Research Training Program is supported by a grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research Quality (AHRQ). The program is designed to provide training and experience to a select group of post-doctoral fellows in the field of health services research. Fellows, in turn, are expected to pursue a career in the field of health services research.
The Visiting Scholars Program in the Department of Health Services in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health is a unique one-year program where individuals who are interested in learning more about Health Services issues, without participating in a formal degree program, may sit in on classes, work with faculty and students, and have access to department and university resources such as desk space, a computer, campus libraries, the internet, as well as receive a certificate at the completion of their visit.  Each Visiting Scholar has a faculty advisor, who must
